I'd disagre that this is essentially the same Montreal team from last spring. Gone are Gionta, Briere, Gorges, Bourque, Moen, Vanek, Boullion, Murray

In are Parenteau, Sekac, Allen, Gonchar, Gilbert. Malholtra.

Montreal has alot more balance through their top 3 lines than last season, have a faceoff stud to take the pressure off Plekanec, and have better depth on defence.

You don't consider their captain plus a top 4 defenceman who lead the league in blocked shots part of the core? Seriously. This team is quite different from last years.

Considering how much of a complete nonfactor their captain was in that series, I don't. We're splitting hairs here, honestly. I would consider Gallagher, Pacioretty, DD, Subban, Emelin, Plek, Markov, Price to be the core. Those were the guys that pasted the Bruins last season, too.

You kind of highlight my point. Last years team really only had one effective scoring line. With the changes made they now have 3, and the addition of Malholtra has been huge. Allowing Plekanec to become more of an offensive threat. The core may not have changed dramatically, but the make-up of the team has.

I dunno what to think here. Krejci, Chara, Marchand, Kelly, McQuaid all out injured. This could be ugly

Maybe I've missed something, but it seems you could use a beer and some good breathing exercises.

The difference between these two teams right now is Carey and Tuukka. I love Tuukka, but this is getting ridiculous. Its never sustained pressure or anything, Rask does well in those spots. Its the goals that just kind of... Happen. Half power shot off a draw beats him, grimey goal off the rush right after a B's rush. He needs to figure out how to lock it down against the habs. They have great offensive players, they're going to get chances. Carey's just going into lockdown mode every game against the B's and Tuukka can't match it. B's played well enough to win tonight but Carey outplayed Tuukka for the umpteenth time. Very frustrating
